Fernando Derossi
Fernando Derossi is Vidavo’s Venture Investment Partner for AgTech, Sustainability, and Carbon. Fernando is passionate about creating solutions that aim to solve society's most complex problems using digital technology, financial engineering and sustainable solutions. A seasoned global executive with early stage startups to multimillion dollar organizations, he holds an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management and has also been named an Innovator Under 35 by MIT Tech Review.
Fernando's Story
Before joining Vidavo, Fernando served as the Global Head of AgTechnology, Sustainability & Carbon Solutions at UPL and as a Board Director at AgroZone, Inc. Prior to UPL, Fernando built an international career with such global leaders as Indigo, Syngenta, BASF, and GE Capital. He also founded a startup that uses machine learning and AI to empower farmers through technology that was integrated into Indigo, and has participated in and structured several investments in the agtech space, integrating startups into larger companies.
Fernando is a Senior Advisor at Fundacion Pensar, a think tank founded by former Argentine president Mauricio Macri, where he plays a key role in advising the design of strategic government plans and investments in growth sectors such as climate change technology and agribusiness.
Originally from Argentina & Italy, Fernando has lived in Italy, Switzerland, Argentina, and Brazil, and currently resides in the United States with his fiancée in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina. In 2016, he graduated from MIT with a full-time executive MBA focused on innovation and global leadership. Fernando also leads a boutique family office investing in public equities and crypto, and in his spare time enjoys playing basketball, and tennis.
